Beef Stew (Crock Pot)

After being sick the last few weeks, and morning sickness in the evenings the last couple of months, I figured it was high time I made my man one of his favorite dishes.  Beef Stew, a man's food!  But, I had yet to find one I really loved or could perfect.  So, I went searching for one that wasn't tomato based,  b/c I just don't like them, like really at all.  Then, I found this one and it was perfect bc it was a brown gravy and Lipton onion soup mix base. We all loved it! Especially my husband!  Another bonus? It's all literally just thrown in the crockpot and that's it!

Beef Stew (Crock Pot)

2.5-3 lbs Beef Stew Meat
4-5 Large Carrots, Sliced
4 Large Potatoes, cubed (skin still on)
1 c Frozen Corn
1 Small Onion, diced
1 Package Powdered Brown Gravy Mix
1 Package Lipton Onion Soup Mix
2 1/4 c Water
2 T Flour

Combine all ingredients in the order listed (minus 1/4 c water and flour) in a slow cooker.
Cook on low for approx 10 hours or on high for 5 hours.
Stir ingredients half way through to mix items together.

In the last 15-30 minutes of cooking, if thickening is required, stir remaining water and the flour in a small bowl until the mixture is smooth. Stir the flour mixture in the cooker. Cover and finish cooking.
Serve with crackers or buttered bread. Enjoy!

White Chicken Chili

I started making this recipe when my husband when on a very strict diet of...who even remember which diet it was at the time.  This recipe is great if you're really trying to watch your calorie intake and wanting to eat more healthy, otherwise it tastes great anytime, especially on these chilly fall days.  This recipe is perfect to experiment and change things around to your taste.

Lasagna Soup

Now that we are getting into the cold months of the year I thought I'd start adding soup recipes again.  I found this recipe last year on Pinterest and just had to try it (I think it's originally from Paula Deen, but made healthier, of course).  It was so good!  It was super simple and tasted delicious!  I've now made it a few times, I've just been holding out on ya'll...sorry :)

Chicken Enchilada Soup

Here's another low cal recipe!  It was very easy to make and tastes great too.  I love recipes you can throw everything together in one dish and have it ready to eat later.  This is a crock pot dish, but you can make it on the stove-top as well.

Day 1 - Creamy Potato Soup

We are going to start out our 25 Days of Recipes with, who better than, my good friend Annie.  We met just under 2 years ago when she moved in down the street, and we pretty much hit it off right away.  Annie is one of those girls who can do anything, and I mean ANYTHING!  She cuts hair (in fact, she cuts and colors mine), she's a great photographer!  Just, check out her work here, seriously they're all amazing pictures, hire her!  Let's see, she makes jewelry, refinishes furniture (she guided me in any of the furniture listed under my Crafts/Projects tab), she has great style, she's a mom and a wonderful cook!  I'm sure I missed some, but you get the jest of it right?  She's amazing!  Sorry Annie, I know that I repeated some of your intro, but I just couldn't help myself!

Take it Away Annie:

My name is Annie and I LOVE creamy soups. I cheer when the first snow fall comes because that means I get to start adding soups to our weekly meals. I am a mom, a hair stylist, and a photographer (www.v-photography.com). Life can get pretty hectic. The thing I like most about this recipe is that it is quick. You can bake your potatoes  in advance (days, even) and the rest of it can be whipped up fast. It is a staple in our home for sure. Enjoy!

Potato Soup

I love soups, I especially love my Mom's recipes.  This recipe reminds me of home and helps me keep warm in the winter ;)  I told my friend Katie from Craptastic I'd add a homemade Potato Soup recipe to my blog, just for her (I was giving her a hard time for making a pre-packaged soup).  So, here it is!!  I actually made this soup a couple of weeks ago, but I'm just getting around to posting it, I'm a little backed up on recipes I need to add. I love this soup, and you know the best part?  It's even better the next day!

Very good.  This is actually a picture from the next day!

Tomato Basil Tortellini Soup

I have a confession to make...I have never liked tomato soup!  But when my sister, Bonny, told me about this Tomato Basil Soup she made and loooved it, (she also has never liked tomato soup) I thought I should try it.  I made this for Sunday dinner for the very last session of General Conference (I also made my Chicken Salad Croissants recipe but, this will be the last recipe I'll add from that weekend).  This fed my 2 boys, me and my hubby and his brother and wife, w/ left overs for dinner the next night!  (I was worried about it not being enough.)  I tried Bonny's suggestion, and served it w/ grilled cheese sandwiches made on thick french bread slices.  So good!  My husband even had me make it again the following weekend for lunch (he's a huge tomato soup fan).  We decided to leave out the tortellini that time, and you know what?  I think I actually liked it even better w/o!   Try it both ways and see what you think.

Chicken Noodle Soup

Can I just tell you how much I love Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup?  I like my recipe so much more than, say, Kneaders or any other restaurant.  I grew up with my mom making this wonderful soup.  Finally in college she gave me the recipe and I was able to make it for myself.  Though I loved her recipe, I have made a few changes and have made it my own.  I don't know if anyone else would rate it this high, but I love it!  I rate it a 5!

I love this soup!

Taco Soup (Crock Pot)

Since I finished all my house work earlier than planned (I had a lot that I neglected yesterday), I decided I would post a recipe that I made last night (or maybe I should say Monday, last night we had the leftovers!).  This one was given to me by one of my friends growing up when we were roommates in college, Holly that's you!  So, I have actually been making this one for quite a while.  She calls it Santa Fe Soup, but I just call it Taco Soup.  It's so good, and soooo easy!  This is probably one of the easiest recipes ever.  The hardest part of it is that you have to brown some ground beef (real hard right ;).  I rate this recipe a 5.
