I felt like adding another recipe, I've actually made this twice now. It is so easy and so good! I had never made pulled pork before (surprising considering I am from TN, I know), but this recipe seems like it's easier than most. Once again, this recipe is provided by Mel's Kitchen. I'm not kidding, I love her recipes! Last time I made this we had another couple over, so there were 4 adults and 3 children, and this was just enough for all of us, I don't know if we ate more than normal or what. So, if you're cooking for more, then plan on making more! You could also do what my mother-in-law does when she makes pulled pork, she serves them on rolls, so it goes a lot further! I rate this recipe a 5!
Right after placing into the crockpot.
Right out of the crock pot ready to shred.
Yummy!
I kind of forgot to take a picture before I started eating, it was that good. And not that great of picture, but you get the idea, right?
BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches
3 to 4 pounds boneless pork shoulder (I’ve also used boneless pork loin – not tenderloin)
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups water
1 tablespoon hickory flavored liquid smoke
2 cups barbecue sauce
Rinse the pork shoulder and pat dry. Rub salt and pepper over the pork and place in a slow cooker. Add water and liquid smoke. Cook on low setting for 8 to 10 hours, until the pork is very tender.
Remove the pork from the slow cooker and discard the remaining liquid. Remove fat and shred the pork using a couple of forks. Place the meat back in the slow cooker along with the barbecue sauce and continue to cook for another 20-30 minutes until the pork is hot again. Serve on buns with extra barbecue sauce. Enjoy!
This looks so good! I love any meat w/BBQ and baked beans! Mmm!
